The Professional Actor in the Family

This weekend concluded the run of Dave's play. I was very happy to be able to see the show both Friday and Saturday nights. It was such a wonderful experience to see how the cast continued to developed the show over the 5 weekends. I was very proud and happy to be able to hear the director and the cast sing Dave's praises. Sufficient to say, they loved him and were very impressed by his hard work and talent. I would have to echo those words. Here is the star with his framed poster and his "actor's stipend." Congrats, my wonderful and talented husband!

Happy Valentine's Day

On our first Valentine's Day together, Dave made me a lovely dinner. On our second, I returned the favor. Now, a tradition has been established. This year, Dave again pulled out his culinary bests. I was greeted at the door and escorted into the dining room where I was met by a bouquet of flowers, a card, a plate of chocolate and a glass of red wine. Dave proceeded to make a wonderful dinner of an appetizer of articoke hearts, red peppers on french bread with melted mozarella. Our main course was a stellar red wine pasta with chicken and a yummy salad. Dinner was accompanied by a lovely bottle of zinfindel that we had picked up in the Russian River Valley area when our parents visited last year. What a relaxing and fun Valentine's Day it was.

Happy Birthday Megan and Shahien!!

Wednesday January 30th was a big day as Megan and Shahien celebrated their birthdays.

On the 30th, we had a fun birthday dinner with Megan at Pacific Catch. LOVE the ahi poke! Sorry there is no photo of the evening. I did have my camera, but unfornately, I completely forgot to use it! However, I will include this very cute picture of Megs from the wedding.

On Friday the 1st, Chris, Laurel, Joyce, Jeff, Alyson and myself took Shahien out for a 30th birthday sushi dinner celebration. Here are some pics of the birthday boy in his birthday hat!

He is holding a "ninja chucker" which was a present from Joyce and Jeff.

This is his GQ look as he shows off the grown-up shirt Dave and I got for him. Don't worry, we also got him some Jesus band-aids for fun!

After dinner, the seven of us headed over to see Dave's play. It was a really fun night. Katherine and Melissa also attended the play that night and it was fun to catch up with them.

After the show, Dave received the "forty" malt liquor that is the award passed around the dinner for 8 crowd. We shall see who gets it next. ;)

Dinner with the girls

On Tuesday night January 29th, Amy, Alla and myself traveled to Joyce's house for some good ole girls time.
Here is Madeline (and Dad) getting a little grub before heading to bed on the early side so that Mom could chit chat in peace

This is Jacob. It was great to see him before Alla asked Yuri to come and pick him up and take him home so that she could chit chat in peace as well. :)

Amy brought a bottle of pinot called "Cycles Gladinator." It was very fitting given that she is a big cyclist and her last name is Gladin. Besides, the wine was pretty good. Thanks for hosting us, Joyce!
