August 2011

It has been a busy month.  Here are a bunch of August pictures.

More practice in the bumbo seats
We attended the Red Egg and Ginger Party at the Silver Dragon Restaurant in Oakland held in honor of Nikko and Julianna Jung.  With three kids in tow, I only captured a few pictures of the day, none of which include the honorees themselves.
The Shahkars

Daddy and Joshua grabbing some yummy food.

The little boys chilled in their car seats for a few minutes, but then wanted out.

Alyson with Colin and her son Gabriel

Joshua loved the noodles.

Colin seemed right at home with Lynna.

Shaney "eating" Daddy's nose.

The little boys are three months old here.

Tall boys at 97th and 90th percentile heights.

Matchy, matchy

All smiles from Shane
Grandma Charlene came for a visit to see all the boys.  The boys enjoyed their time with her as much as she did with them.  We look forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa for Thanksgiving this year.

The boys are starting the phase where everything goes in the mouth.

Since Shane was sitting on Daddy in bed, Joshua decided he needed to do the same thing.
The Yungs had a very nice BBQ with friends a few weeks ago.  We had a great time with the Yungs, B Soo, the Jungs and some other friends.  Unfortunately, I only got a few pictures because our crazy babies decided that sleeping anywhere but home wasn't for them.  Hard to take a picture one handed. :)
Chris, Brian and Joyce enjoying the yummy food.

Joshua was WAY too busy with Madeline and Tyler to join the family picture.

Fun in the playroom
Joshua continues to relish being a big brother and can't wait to hug and kiss the babies at every opportunity.
Joshua loves to be the big brother in the middle.

Both Shane and Colin get their fair share of kisses from Joshua.

Couldn't get this picture to turn around, but thought it was cute enough to include anyway.

A little more lounging

Daddy hanging out with the little boys.  We tried to get Joshua to join the picture, but he was just not in the mood. :)

He was, however, in the mood to show me his lunch box and a bag of diapers he is ready to take out the door to school.
The Gottshalls (Todd, Melissa, Joey and Annie + Saddie (Melissa's Mom)), stopped by for a visit on a Saturday a few weeks ago.  The kids played while the adults tried to catch up.  It was nice to see them.
Joshua and Annie learning a thing about the tool kit from Todd.

Deep in thought

On Sunday, we wanted to get out of the house and decided to take a walk down to town and grab an ice tea at Starbucks and walk back.  Since Shane doesn't love to be tied down, we decided to put Colin and Joshua in the double stroller and have Shane in the Baby Bjorn.  It worked great and everyone had a good time.
Testing out the new City Mini Double Stroller on a walk to town.

Shane riding with Mommy.
Shane tends to take short naps and falls asleep much quicker than Colin.  Therefore, poor Colin is always being woken up to eat.  On this particular day, we put Shane in the bouncy seat for a while to let his brother nap a bit longer.
Playing on the deck while Daddy works on the pool.
Last weekend we visited Miss Karen to get Joshua's haircut.  She is so good with him that he actually looks forward to going to see her.  He gets to watch Elmo or Thomas, and goes home with a sticker, balloon and lollipop.  Who wouldn't want to see Miss Karen.
Joshua sporting the new haircut at the coffee house.

Here are Joshua and Tyler running around the Yung's living room.  Love how JWM is trying to lap Mr. T. :)

Joshua's school put on a graduation for the kids leaving for kindergarten. The performance was followed by a family picnic for all the Sunrise families.  The videos below are the singing portions where Joshua's twos class performed with the older kids.  He was and continues to sing all these songs pretty much daily.  We love it!
