Goodbye to Shane and Debbie :(

We met Shane, Debbie and the bunch in Alameda to go bowling on Sunday night Sept 28th. On the 29th, Shane and Debbie will hit the road as they are moving to Seattle. We are excited for them as they begin their new adventure as an engaged couple! We are sad too as we will miss them terribly. We have already established that they are ok for their new place to be kid friendly once we venture up there in the new year with the three of us.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Friday September 26th was Dave's birthday. We had a great time celebrating with various events. First off, we started at our second trimester ultrasound (hopefully all of you know by now that we are expecting our first child) to make sure everything is looking good and to find out the sex of the baby. Drum roll please......we are having a boy! We are both very excited about having a son and the joys a little boy can bring. It will definitely be a learning experience for me as I only have a sister. Luckily, I have learned some from having two nephews, but I will be relying on my wonderful husband to show me the ropes.

On Saturday night September 27th, we had a fun birthday party to celebrate with friends.

Alyson and Shahien's Baby Shower Dinner

To welcome the upcoming arrival of Baby Shahkar, the dinner for eight crowd gathered at Joyce and Jeff's for a pizza party celebration complete with homemade ice cream chocolate chip sandwiches. It was a great time to hang out and catch up!

Camp and Canoe

Two weekends ago, we traveled up to the Russian River to go canoeing for the day and camp overnight. I pretty much forgot to use my camera except these few pictures.

Getting ready for breakfast.

The milk was frozen, so it was put on the fire. That didn't work out so well.

The view from our camp site. It turned out to be pretty nice weather.

Saturday Brunch and Museum Date

On a beautiful Saturday morning, Dave and I decided to take advantage of some VIP passes that a patient had given me to attend the Chihuly exhibit at the DeYoung Museum in Golden Gate park. Chihuly is a contemporary artist who works with glass and light. Those of you who have been to the Bellagio in Vegas might recognize the work. It was a truly spectacular exhibit that is hard to do any justice to with pictures. Before heading into the museum, Dave and I had a wonderful brunch on an outdoor patio at Park Chow. The day was beautiful and warm. We even had ice cream after the museum to celebrate the Indian summer day.

Dinner in Berkeley

On a Friday night, Dave and I met the Haynes (Abby, Matt and Evan) along with Ijeoma and Megan for dinner at a Cajun place in Berkeley. The food and the company were both awesome!

Megan came over on a Friday night and we made homemade pizzas. They turned out very well!

Party in Marin County

Several weeks ago, Dave and I met up with the Yungs at a party for all of the people involved in our Chronic Pelvic Pain Program at Kaiser. Joyce and I have been a part of this program since its inception and we are very proud of our physical therapy piece of the program. It was a fun Sunday afternoon to hang out with the physicians, nurses and other staff involved in the program.

Dinner with Alyson, Shahien and Christy

Once again I have gotten way behind on the blog, so I will be adding several new posts all at once.

About one month ago, we ventured to Oakland to have a belated birthday dinner for Alyson.
