A Relaxing Sunday

On Sunday, Dave and I had a wonderful day of rest. After sleeping in a bit, we went to have coffee and do a crossword puzzle at Cafe XO in Noe Valley. From there we swung by and picked up some sandwiches before heading to Land's End Trail for a walk and a picnic. After the picnic, we stopped by Joe's Ice Cream for a scoop. Due the the fact that I was feeling a bit of nostalgia from attending the wedding the day before, Dave and I stopped by the Main Post Chapel to take a look. It ended up being such a great thing to do as we ran into Father Gerry, the priest who married us 6 months ago. He was there meeting with another couple on their way to the alter. It was fun to re-visit our own wedding site on such a pretty day. It was definitely a relaxing and rejuvenating day.

Chris and Laurel's Wedding

April 26, 2008 was the wedding day for Laurel Watanabe and Chris Jung. It was a stunningly beautiful day for a great couple. The wedding included a serenade from Laurel's first grade class singing "Somewhere over the rainbow." It was a lovely ceremony. We then headed to the Palo Alto Hills Country Club for the reception. It was a such a special and fun day watching a dear friend marry the girl of his dreams. I counted my blessings on the day which included my husband, our families, and our dear friends. It is a wonderful life!

Chris and Laurel's Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner

On Friday April 25th, we headed down to Palo Alto and Stanford Memorial Church for Chris and Laurel's rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The dinner was a wonderful Chinese banquet with A LOT of food. Spending time with our friends was the best part!

Here is the groom in front of the church.

This is a picture of the very intimidating platform where Alyson and I read from. Luckily neither of us tripped at rehearsal or at the actual event.

This is the great present that C & L gave each of us girls for being a part of the wedding. It is a wonderful Japanese stacking dish set. So beautiful and useful!

BBQ and movie night at the Doidge's

On Sunday afternoon, April 20th, Dave and I left J&Js and headed up to Kevin and Rebecca's place in Sausalito for a BBQ and to watch the movie version of "Wait Until Dark" with Audrey Hepburn. We were joined by Jamie and Tim, Kate and Bryan and their 3 month old son, Miles. The food was fantastic and the company much fun! Unfortunately, I accidentally left my camera at J&Js house, so I will have to include a picture of everyone from our wedding (Mary and Roger in the back left corner live outside Washington DC). Miles is in the picture, he is just hanging out inside Mom's belly still. :) I have to say that Dave made a MUCH better bad guy than his counterpart in the movie. That is not prejudice, that is the truth!

Chris and Laurels Work Party

On Sunday April 20, Dave and I joined several others at Joyce and Jeff's house to help assemble various wedding items for Chris and Laurel's wedding coming up on Saturday April 26th. Dave and I worked on the wedding favors which I will be sure to photograph and include on a future post. We had a great brunch and a lot of fun hanging out with everyone. Madeline's first birthday was the 16th, so we also got to take presents and watch her open them. She is definitely growing up. What a cutie!

Toasting the happy couple with mimosas.

The work table with everyone obviously engrossed in their tasks.

Miss M was merely trying to have a meal, but wasn't all that interested in it.

I am not sure what they are talking about, but it looks serious.

Madeline rightfully thinks Uncle Dave is silly.

Golden State Warriors versus Supersonics

On Wednesday night, Dave and I went to the Golden State Warriors last season game in Oakland. It was a fun experience as I have not been to an NBA game since high school. I didn't want to take the chance that my camera would not be let in the coliseum, so I didn't take it. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost the game, but it was fun none the less.

Giants versus Diamondbacks

On Monday April 14th, Megan, her friend Michael, Dave and I went to the Giants game at Pac Bell Park. I throughly enjoyed the company. I do have to say that it was by far the coldest game I have ever attended. I had a short sleeve shirt, two long sleeve shirts, a sweatshirt, a jacket and a blanket over our legs. Thank you to Megan for getting the tickets for us!

6 Month Wedding Anniversay

On Sunday, April 13th, Dave and I celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary. We went out for coffee and brunch and did a crossword puzzle. In the afternoon we headed back to the basketball court where Dave and I had our second date. We again played 3 games horse and the outcome was the same as 2.5 years ago. :)
On Sunday night, we came home and made dinner together. We had halibut steaks, salad, asparagus and bread. We had a lovely bottle of wine and ended with some mint cookie ice cream. Yum! It was a great day and a wonderful way to celebrate. By the time I remembered to take a picture, Dave and I were in our pajamas. Guess you will have to look at the dinner instead. :)

Girls shopping day!

Last Saturday, April 12th, Megan, Melissa and I headed out for a shopping trip. We went to brunch first to down some coffee and food to energize ourselves before heading to Union Square. It was a fun and productive day! Good job ladies!

Mini Wednesday Night Dinner

On Wednesday April 9th, we had dinner at Greens Restaurant in Fort Mason with Dave, Lynna, Emmett, Emily and Emmet. Greens is a vegetarian restaurant with a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a wonderful dinner, exceptional company and a stellar sunset!

Ski Weekend In Tahoe

This past weekend (April 4-6th) we headed up to Tahoe to spend a weekend in the snow. Well, sort of anyway. Kevin, Megan, Dave and I drove up on Friday afternoon with Melissa and Todd only a sort time behind us. Thanks to Kevin, we had a fun house around Carnelian Bay. The best part was definitely the hot tub! On Saturday, we went to Squaw to ski or snowboard for the day. It turned out to be much better conditions than I thought. Tahoe hasn't gotten any snow in a long time, but it was actually warm enough that the ice turned to slush and it was a fun day. On Sunday, we headed to El Dorado county for some wine tasting. It was a really fun get away!!

We made burritos at home on Friday night. Kevin's was impressive!

Todd decided the getting up to get a wine glass for the last bit of wine was too much work.

What a cute couple. :)

Kevin is ready for more.

It felt nice to sit in the sun.

Only a few hours to go before hitting the hot tub!

The idea is to get in it Kevin, not sit on top. :)

Heading out of Tahoe.

At the first winery, Todd and Dave decided to taste the beer instead of the wine.

The rest of us went with the wine tasting.

Lovely picnic lunch at a winery. LOVE leftovers!
