We went to a great party with our playgroup friends in Lafayette.  Here Dave is getting some fun treats from a few of the older boys.

Off for trick or treating

It was hard to convince Joshua to stop at the end of the evening.  He had a blast this year.

A couple of weeks ago, we attended a great lunch at Emmett and Emily's home in San Mateo.  It was so great to catch up with a lot of folks we hadn't seen in a long time.

Hello Shaney!

All the boys were given jean jackets with their names on them from our friend, Nancy.  Here is Joshua's jacket.

Looking cool
Here are a group of random pictures that I thought I would include.

October - Pre-Halloween

Posts are few and far between these days, but here goes.  These are all pictures from the month of October through the weekend preceeding Halloween.  The actual Halloween pictures will be my next post. :)

I got these flowers on my first day back to work.  Very nice and cheery!

We love to get outside whenever we can, so we took advantage of a nice day and went for a walk in Tilden Park at Inspiration Point.

Shaney prefers to catch a ride with Mommy.

The view for the trail of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Two weekends before Halloween, we ventured out to the Clayton Valley Pumpkin Patch.  We went here last year on a rainy Saturday and Joshua loved the train.  This year, it was HOT and there were a ton more people, but we still had a lot of fun.  Joshua, however, refused to ride the train this year because it made a loud whistle noise and he is not a fan of loud noises.  He had also decided that he does not wish to have his picture taken most of the time.  He does want to see any pictures on the camera though.  I keep trying to explain to him that without taking a picture, I don't have a picture to show him.  Most of the time, he is not convinced.
A photo op....sort of anyway :)

Colin enjoyed checking out all the people.

Shaney, as usual, prefered to be out of the stroller.

Joshua checking out the llamas

Shaney loves his Daddy!

Joshua's favorite part was the the maze of hay bails.  He must have gone through it 25 times.

The following weekend we decided to visit the Little Farm in Tilden Park.  Joshua loved the ducks and goats, but was scared of the enourmous cows. :)

Checking out the chickens

The ducks in the water were Joshua's favorite.

The McEwen boys

After going to the little farm, we stopped by the carosel

Joshua liked watching it, but have absolutely no interest in riding it.

Just watching the horses go round.

Relaxing before heading home.

On the Friday before Halloween, Joshua's school had the Halloween parade.  It is such a fun event to see all the kids dressed up and walking around the neighborhood.
The 3s class

Joshua's 2s class with teacher Debbie in front and teacher Kayla in back.

The little boys dressed up as well.

Joshua held Daddy's hand for the whole walk.

Unfortunately, the sun was directly in Joshua's eyes, so this is the best picture I could get. :)

Daddy with the little boys in Joshua's classroom.

We have finally gotten the little boys nursery together which means we now no longer have a guest room.  We decided to sell the queen bed rather than hold onto it and move it to Joshua's room.  As is always the case, Joshua was ready to help break down the bed frame in whatever way he could.

On Saturday the 29th, My mom's club held the annual trick or treating event at La Fiesta Plaza in Lafayette.  It was a super warm day and all the boys seemed to enjoy the event.

Joshua stopping his trick or treating long enough for a photo op.

Our friends Mike and Michaela and their daughter, Stella, were also at the event.  Stella decided she wanted a turn in the stroller too.  She was  really cute strawberry!

As close to a family photo as we could manage.

The Caughlins

Shaney had had it near the end and passed out in my arms.

The night of the 29th was the premiere party for the independent film, Bread Bender, that Dave stared in and has been working on for about a year and a half.  The party was at a beautiful house in Alameda complete with a red carpet, photographer outside taking our picture when we arrived, and a large screening area in the back yard.  It was a really fun evening.  I was very proud of my talented husband!
Joshua wanted to take a picture with Mommy and Daddy.  Lucky for us, he loved the new babysitter and was totally fine with us leaving.
