Happy Daddy's Day and Other Misc.

For Daddy's day this year, Joshua and I planned a chill, but fun day. We started out having coffee in Rockridge after which we stopped at a yummy marketplace to pick up our lunch items. We went to Tilden Park in the afternoon for picnic and walk on Inspiration trial. It was a great day and we hoped Daddy felt as special as he makes Joshua and myself feel!
Picnic at Tilden Park

Joshua liked the chicken and green apple salad as well as the marinated mushrooms. In case you are wondering, his shirt says "my first words were Go Gators." Not true by the way. :)

Along the trial overlooking the bay. The weather was perfect as it was warm with a slight breeze. You could see the Golden Gate as well as the Richmond Bridge from up here. Beautiful!

A rare picture with Joshua in a hat. He now hates wearing them and they don't last long.

Joshua loves his Daddy!

Joshua continues to walk on his knees instead of his feet. He loves to push the plane, a laundry basket, a piece of furniture, whatever, around the house. Check out the video at the end.

My college friends Heather and Eric Rhyne as well as their two great kids, Brooke and Kevin came into town and we got to have dinner with them at Zachary's in Oakland. It was so wonderful to see them and catch up!!

Last weekend, we headed to Mike, Michaela and Stella's for a world cup game and a BBQ. Very fun and yummy!
Joshua really liked the grilled zucchini
Hanging in the shade with Daddy.

Last Tuesday was a sad day as we said goodbye to Joshua's nanny, Dore. He is starting into a daycare now to spend more time around other kids. Dave and I have committed to Dore and Joshua that we will have Dore come and stay with Joshua once a month for their relationship to continue and for Dave and I to get a date day or night. :)

Dave is trying to leave for his softball game, but Joshua is too enthralled with the bat.

Fun with the plane.

We have had some less crazy weeks recently, which has been very nice.
On my birthday, my boys took me to lunch at San Francisco Creamery in Walnut Creek. Dave came home early so Megan and I could get in a training walk for our upcoming Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Dave made a wonderful dinner of a sausage and porcini mushroom lasagna with a red wine sauce, bread, and salad.
A picture just before dessert.

Megan made a very yummy chocolate cake with coffee frosting. So good!

On a Saturday a week or so ago, we went to the park on a beautiful day. Joshua had a great time swinging and watching the other kids.

He wasn't so sure about the tunnel and decided staying with Daddy was much better.

The big wheel was a hit.

Joshua kept trying to play soccer with the big boys, so Dave walked around with him all over the grass to prevent him from getting tagged by the ball or a larger boy.

Joshua was fascinated with the grass. Unfortunately, it was only a matter of time before he had to see if it tasted any good.

Last Friday, I decided to try and get some laundry done, so I brought the baskets out into the dining room to sort. After starting to make some piles, I just gave up as Joshua had his own plans for the clothes.

Um...thanks for the help monkey. :)

On Sunday, we met up with the Jungs at the Yung's house for brunch. We had an awesome meal and such a great time catching up. Joshua really enjoyed playing with Madeline and Tyler.
You know he is having a good time when he is too busy to stop and pose with Auntie Joyce.

Madeline, Auntie Laurel, Joshua and Dave building with Lego's.
More Lego fun.

Joshua is addicted to puffs. Tonight he crawled into the kitchen and pointed at the container stating "that." Daddy gave in and Joshua happily sat on Daddy's lap munching before bath time.
Happy puffaholic!
