Madeline's B-day and an early Easter egg hunt

We had a busy and fun weekend last weekend.  I thought I would include a couple additional pictures in the past two weeks.

On Tuesday mornings, Joshua is usually glued to the window for a few minutes watching the trash truck or recycling truck.

Joshua and Dave came home the other night to a family of deer in our front yard.

Last Saturday, April 16th, was Madeline's birthday.  She had a fun party at Pump It Up in Belmont.  Joshua wasn't so sure about the big slides or obstacle courses, but really liked this bouncy house with the basketball hoops.  He and Dave spent most of the time in the first room in this bouncy house.
To get to this slide, you had to go through a obstacle course.  Joshua decided that he would rather just have Daddy try to go up the slide the wrong way.  These are very slick slides, so it was definitely not successful. :)
Here is Joshua and Dave climbing the ladder for the big slide.
Going down the big slide.
Here are all the kids before heading into the next room to have pizza, salad, fruit and an ice cream cake.

On the Sunday before Easter, my Mom's club held the annual Easter egg hunt in Moraga.  Joshua had his Easter basket and was ready to go.
When we first got to the hunt and were waiting our turn, Joshua seemed a little intimated by all the other kids.  However, once the hunt started he got down to business quick.

Joshua was not so sure about the Easter bunny when we were trying to take a picture with him, so this is as close as we could get.  However, later, when I wasn't around with the camera, he gave the Easter bunny a high five and must have told me about it around 12 times over the rest of the day.
We ran into Michaela and Stella.  Stella is cruising like a champ these days.  She turns one in a couple of weeks.

Here is a video from Madeline's b-day party at Pump It Up.

Lots of fun with friends and new experiences

Rebecca came into town and we were able to get together to celebrate Joyce's birthday.  Yummy Cambodian food in the city!
Just over a week ago, we ventured down to San Jose to have dinner with the Haynes and Megan and meet the newest member of the Haynes family, Levi.  Here is proud mama Abby and baby Levi.
Proud papa Matt hanging out with Dave.  The men and boys (Joshua and Evan ) played outside while Matt threw some sausages on the BBQ.  Megan, Abby, baby Levi and I hung out inside and caught up.
Joshua was fascinated with baby Levi.  Lets hope it continues with his own brothers.
Unfortunately, Evan is hiding behind Joshua.  Love the look on Joshua's face.

Last Friday I got to head to the peninsula to have lunch with Alla, baby Julia, Joyce and Tyler.  Thanks so much to Joyce and Alla for a bunch of baby items including a baby swing, car seat and bases, a bouncy seat and many, many other items.  Joyce has been awesome in passing along a ton of items so that we will have two of the things we will be using.  Thank you so much ladies!!!  Julia has to be one of the happiest babies I know.  So cute!!

On Saturday morning, we finally bit the bullet and went for Joshua's first haircut.  My mom's club highly recommends Miss Karen's place, so we made an appt to see Miss Karen.  We were really happy we did.  She was so good with him and totally knew exactly what she was doing.  He got a balloon, goldfish, watched a Elmo video, watched a train going around, a moving Ferris wheel and a ball that lit up when banged on the counter.  Distract, distract, distract.  At first Joshua clung to Daddy for dear life.
Miss Karen finally took Joshua and got him seated in the car, calmed down and got down to business.
Joshua loved watching the train go through the tunnel.
He survived and then was happy.  He talked about the experience the rest of the day.
Joshua loves to climb up on the bench on our front porch and hang out.
Here is what the haircut looks like from the back.  We were really excited that the curls remain!
On Sunday we headed for the park.  I think being on a swing may be the best place on earth to Joshua.  He can never get enough.
Going down the slide with Daddy.

Hanging out in the caboose of the train.  The boy who was in there with him kept talking about a chocolate cookie, so then Joshua wanted a chocolate cookie.  He had to settle for veggie sticks instead. ;)

Joshua loves to help Daddy.  The love of power tools has already started as he was so excited to get to help Daddy use the electric screwdriver.

This has become the new start to getting ready for bath and then bedtime.  It is pretty funny to watch. :)
