Fun times so far in 2010

We have had many fun times as the year has kicked off. Here are some pictures to catch up.
Joshua got this musical table from Tutu and G.G. for Christmas and he loves it!

We were supposed to head to Tahoe for the weekend with the Gottshalls in mid-January. However, the weather was crazy and the roads required chains for more than 50 miles. Both families decided that having kids in car seats while we were crawling along in the snow didn't make too much sense. Instead, the Gottshalls traveled to our neck of the woods and we all had a very fun lunch.

A few weekends ago, we went to one of our favorite brunch places in Lafayette called Squirrels Cafe. It is a good old diner with not a lot of atmosphere, but good food and a very nice wait staff.
Joshua enjoyed his fruit and shared some of my omelet and potatoes for breakfast.

Periodically, Dave and Joshua make the trip into the city on a Thursday to have lunch with me. On this particular Thursday, Joshua needed a diaper change, so the boys came into my treatment room so we could take care of business.

For Auntie Megan's birthday this year, she wanted to have dinner with her three favorite families. Therefore the Morgans (Matt, Sam, Bella and Jake), the Haynes (Matt, Abby and Evan) and us joined Megan in Berkeley for beer and pizza. It was a very fun night.

On February 9th, Joshua turned one. On Saturday the 6th, we had a first birthday party for him. He had a great time and so did we!
Here he is after getting some of his birthday cake. Tutu and G.G. brought him the birthday hat and bib.

A quick family photo while Joshua is getting some birthday cake.

Opening presents. If you notice, on top of his hat is a birthday candle. He wore the hat the rest of the party without a fuss.

We got Joshua a bunch of balloons for his birthday. Somehow he decided that biting his balloon was a good idea. Luckily it never popped.

Tangled in his balloons.

On his actual birthday, we went to Sweet Tomatoes to have lunch. Joshua really likes Sweet Tomatoes because there are lots of people to watch, lots of different foods he can eat, and most importantly there are a bunch of ceiling fans and they are usually all on.

Playing at home on his birthday.

Joshua will pull up on anything he can these days. Although he isn't walking yet, he has started cruising and going between various furniture and toys.

There are two squirrels that run around in our front and back yard. On this particular day, one of the squirrels was digging for seeds in the front yard. Joshua had an excellent view from the front window and was memorized.

Last Saturday Rebecca was in town so Alyson and I took a girls day and took BART into the city to meet up with the gang.

We had beautiful weather last weekend for President's Day and got outside every day of the three day weekend. For Valentines Day, we took a walk around the Lafayette Reservoir. Joshua had a smile plastered on his face for basically the whole close to 3 mile walk. He loved seeing the adults, kids and dogs. I also have to say that he seemed to put a smile on most of the faces that passed us going the opposite way too.

Joshua was very happy to have Auntie Megan as his Valentine.

On President's Day, we headed to the park for a picnic and some swing time.

Dave and Joshua were pushed down the slide by a small kid in red hiding behind Dave.

Last Tuesday night, Lynna and Dave had Chris and Laurel and us over for a wonderful dinner. It was a fun night of great company and great food. Here is Lynna with both Clara and Joshua on her lap. Emmet is hiding behind Clara.
