A visit to Mommy's office

On Wednesday Joshua came with me for a visit to my office. It was fun to see my coworkers and have lunch with Joyce and Alla.

They were making fun of poor Joshua's lack of hair. We are happy that he actually has some peach fuzz now. :)

The Heisman baby. Go Brian, or rather go Joshua since he is the only one in the picture that actually has a chance of winning one. ;)

A sunny afternoon with the Shahkars

On Tuesday afternoon, Joshua and I went to the Shahkar's house for the afternoon. We had a great time playing with the boys and just hanging out. They have a nice pool area at their complex, so we went to the pool for a bit with the boys. It was Joshua's first time in the water. I know everyone is confused as we have our own pool. However, our pool is currently without water as we try to get it up to snuff. Gabriel is already a water pro and loves it. Joshua was fine with it up to his belly, so I am sure he will love it more next weekend when we are in Las Vegas at my parents place for the 4th of July.

Gabriel liked to touch Joshua and Joshua was perfectly content just to watch Gabriel.

Gabriel happily playing with his new poplinks. This kid is so smiley and mellow. He is a joy to be around.

Gabriel nicely shared his poplinks so that Joshua could slobber on a few of them.

It was so fun to have the boys at the pool. It was a hot day, but really nice in the shade.

Alyson giving the boys a hug. Notice the glassy eyes of both boys. Gabriel passed out on the way back to the house. After a quick diaper change and our goodbyes, Joshua was asleep in his car seat before we had even driven out of the complex.

Happy 1st Father's Day!!!

We had a fun 1st Father's Day for Dave on Sunday.
Joshua waited all the way to 6:50am to wake up. ;)
Daddy and Joshua

Dave got some great presents including a Hawaiian shirt from my parents, a cute card from Marla, Eric and nephew Gates, and a piano song book of children's songs from me. However, far and away his favorite gift was a photo book from Joshua titled "My Daddy and me" which was full of pictures of the two of them since Joshua's birth.

Joshua took part of his morning nap on Daddy in the nice warm sunshine from the skylights.

Joshua finished his nap at Papillon coffee house in Lafayette while Mommy and Daddy did a crossword puzzle. It was only appropriate to come here because this was the first coffee house Joshua was introduced to at somewhere close to one month old.

While at the coffee house, Joshua had quite the blowout and it leaked on his outfit. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was going to be so warm and didn't want to put him in the outfit I had for him in the diaper bag. So, here is our poor child in his diaper and socks for the ride home. At least we got a good laugh out of it.

I just put together Joshua's exersaucer, so this is all new to him. He already seems to like it because he gets to stand up.

In honour of Daddy, we went to Triple Rock Brewery in Berkeley for an early dinner. The beers and burgers were awesome.

Joshua was quite intrigued with Daddy's beer and didn't care about the camera.

Here is a short video of the game Joshua loves most right now.

Saturday in Sausalito

This past weekend, Uncle Shane came into town to visit and play in the 2nd annual Sausalito Corn Hole Invitational Tournament (SCHIT) put on by Kevin and Rebecca Doidge. This year there were 26 teams. Dave and Shane make an excellent team and made it very far in the tournament. Much to their disappointment, they did not win the tournament. Joshua and I were very impressed with their skills and thought they did GREAT! No surprise, Joshua loved Uncle Shane!

He was very happy watching the people, dogs and trees.

Visits

Last Friday night, Rebecca and Jim came into town and we met up in SF for a girls night out + Jim of Cambodian food and Maggie Mudd's ice cream. Dave had Joshua duty. Very nicely, Mike and Michaela brought him dinner and spent the evening with the boys which they all enjoyed.

We closed Maggie Mudds and hung out on the street until midnight. Crazy night on the town for me.

On Wednesday afternoon, our new nanny Dore, stopped by with flowers and a cake for us. She used to be a professional chef years ago. Good for us!

Today, Auntie Joyce and Madeline stopped by for a visit. We went to the Olde San Francisco Creamery for lunch. It was a fun day and Miss M loved her strawberry ice cream.
Joshua loved Auntie Joyce and Miss Madeline and proved so by smiling constantly at them both. Madeline was very good and gentle with him giving him pats and kissing his feet. She will be great with her new little brother who will enter the world in September.

Joshua turns 4 months old

On Tuesday June 9th, Joshua was officially 4 months old. The time is certainly flying! We celebrated by visiting the Pediatrician. Joshua is now 13lbs, 4.6 oz and 25 inches long. He is 19th percentile weight and 65th percentile height. He is long and lean like his Daddy. Unfortunately, he had to get his next round of immunizations and the fever for 2 days that follows the shots. :( He was a trooper though and is feeling much better now.

Just after being weighed at the Pediatrician's office.

Much happier in Daddy's arms then on the table. Who wouldn't be.

Happy 4 month birthday Joshua!

As you can tell, his head control continues to improve as does his dexterity.

Poplinks taste pretty good.

Happily watching the mobile above the crib.

On Thursday, we went to lunch with Daddy and then stopped by for a quick visit to Daddy's office before heading home.
Here is the view from Daddy's nice picture windows in his office.

New skills

Given that it has been almost two weeks since my last post, it is about time. The past week and then some my focus has been on finding a nanny for Joshua. We have another interview tonight and are most excited about this particular candidate. Fingers crossed!

Joshua discovered he had Pooh Bears on his feet and was having fun pulling on the ears.

Joshua happily relaxing with Daddy and Duck

Auntie Tania came to visit.

Last week Joshua figured out he can roll on his tummy. He just can't figure out what to do with his arm.
On Saturday, Daddy watched Joshua while Auntie Megan treated Mommy to a pedicure, lunch and some shopping. Dave cooked a BBQ chuck roast in the crock pot all day and we had a great dinner on Saturday night of BBQ, cole slaw and garlic bread. Dessert was key lime pie. Yummy!
Smiles on Sunday when heading out to the coffee house for coffee and crossword.

Reacting to the tongue game with Daddy.

Joshua is learning how to grasp objects with both hands. So far this is best done with Duck. Duck was a present from Uncle Kevin which Joshua got in the hospital when he was first born. He loves it. Duck has a place on his tummy that says "Quack!" and he does just that when you press it which can almost always quiet this crying boy. Duck also has a bell which Joshua likes.

Best of all, Duck is great to gnaw on.

Mmmmm good! The put-everything-in-my-mouth phase has begun.
