A Happy 4th of July weekend

We had a very fun, hot 4th of July weekend.  I managed to capture some of it in pictures, but missed several moments as well.  On Saturday we started the day at our favorite coffee house in Lafayette.  All three boys were very good and were happy eating while Dave and I enjoyed our coffees.  The temp was in the 90s here in Orinda.  Happily, while all three boys took a nap, Dave and I got to jump in the pool.  Very refreshing.  After Joshua got up, he too was excited to go in the pool, but wanted to lay down with "his babies" first while they were getting their meals.  I had not thought about getting swim diapers for Joshua, so we decided to try and risk it.  The amazing thing was that Joshua agreed to try and go poo poo in the big potty and was successful for the first time.  Yea!  Guess getting in the pool with Daddy was REALLY motivating.

Daddy with his boys.  Go Daddy on feeding the little ones!

Colin, Shane and Joshua

This year Joshua didn't seem to mind the water being a little cold with getting in.  Once in the pool, it felt great!

Playing with Daddy

Colin loves to sleep in the swing, while Shane is much happier swaddled and in the crib.

Joshua really enjoys sitting on the lounge chairs and request that Daddy and I sit in the chairs along side him.

Dave and Joshua were sitting under the umbrella just hanging out for a good half hour.  Very cute!
On Sunday, we went to brunch in Alamo and then to Target to get Joshua some new shoes.  He inherited some Spider-Man shoes from his cousin, Gates, that he has outgrown.  Luckily, we found some new Spider-Man shoes that light up.  He also got some Spider-Man water shoes.  Good times.  After a good nap, we went to Lafayette for a treat.  Joshua is not a sweets kid and doesn't like anything cold, so he was much happier with his bagel and cream cheese than the yummy frozen yogurt Dave and I got.

We stopped by Whole Foods to get some yummy salads, hot dogs and buns.  Only at Whole Foods would you get brioche hot dog buns.  They were good!
On Monday, we gathered up the boys (which took a really long time) and got out the door to head to Alameda to watch the parade.  We caught the end of the parade and then headed over to Auntie Megan's house to play.  Joshua adores Auntie Megan and was really excited to see her.  Megan's friends Andrea and Jason and their kids Sienna (2.5) and Wesley (9 weeks) were there too.  Joshua had a lot of fun playing with Sienna.

All smile with Sienna and Joshua
A rare opportunity for a family photo.  Thank you Megs!
Playing with the ball he got during the parade.

In the late afternoon.  Mike, Michaela and Stella came over to meet the little ones, jump in the pool and bring us a FABULOUS dinner!  We all had a great time.  Thank you Caughlins!!
The gang, minus Colin and Shane of course, in the pool.

Michaela and Stella.  Stella is now 13 months and so cute!

Unfortunately, my camera was running out of batteries, so I only caught this little snip it of the hokey pokey at Auntie Megan's house, but I thought it was worth sharing anyway.  Priceless!
